Culture X AI 2024-2025: Culture and Future Mode showcases the best of Hong Kong’s culture, design and innovation practitioners on the world’s stage. The featured activities and practitioners juxtaposes inspirations from culture with the versatility of AI to push the boundaries of creativity and technology.

About Culture X AI 2024 – 2025: Culture and Future Mode

The programme is hosted by the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab), a research platform jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Royal College of Art (RCA). Culture X AI 2024 – 2025: Culture and Future Mode comprises of a series of 6 key events: Kan Tai Keung X AiDLab X HK Fashion Designers Show (London), Greater Bay Area Forum (Shenzhen), International Young Talent Mentorship, Culture X AI International Fashion Show (Hong Kong), Exhibitions and Pop-up Retail Experiences.

  • Date:         17 July 2024

    Venue:      Victoria and Albert Museum, London

     

    With the theme of Culture, Innovation and Fashion, the show will feature the collaboration between Dr. Kan Tai Keung, Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab) and five Hong Kong designers.

     

    Each designers’ collection will be developed by AiDA, serving as fashion representations of each individual phase across Dr. Kan’s creative career.

    A discussion platform for active sharing and knowledge exchange to address the current and future roles of AI in fashion and culture.

  • Date:        October 2024 – March 2025

     

    An international call for young fashion talent will be launched to recruit 10 international talents for womenswear, menswear and genderless fashion. All selected young talent will be mentored in the AiDA system by Prof. Calvin Wong and his team. The young talent will develop new collections using the AiDA system to be presented at the fashion show in Hong Kong.

    Location:   Atrium Link, Hong Kong Science Park

     

    Encapsulates the diverse theme of AI, Fashion and Design, the exhibits will showcase examples of AI integrated technology for fashion design, production, and retail. It will enable the public to gain knowledge about the multi -faceted approaches to integrate AI into culture, fashion, and design.

    Location:   Hong Kong Palace Museum

     

    The fashion show will showcase the collections which are developed with AI-based Interactive Design Assistant for Fashion (AiDA) by 10 international young talents, with 5 fashion designers who presented their collaborations at Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

    The pop-up retail demonstrates the viability of adopting AI technology to design fashion collections for commercial applications.
